I'm not all that thrilled with a lot of the Supernatural icons this time. Seems like the characters have spent a lot of time in dimly lit, greenish areas with phones glued to the ears. *shrug* The Walking Dead is a new show for me and I'm still finding my legs color-wise with the show. A little constructive criticism on that would be welcome. I love the outdoors shots but that's never been my strength; guess I'll learn.

I'm ever so slowly making my way through the six hour miniseries Pride & Prejudice by the BBC/A&E. I'm going in order so this set represents the first little bit of the first of six episodes. I like the challenge of working with a costume drama. The delicate colors of a pre-industrial, pastoral world are a huge switch from the saturated, bright colors of the darkly lit sci fi shows I tend to favor. I'm still finding my way with the coloring on these, too. Happily, it's no hardship to revisit one of my all time favorite books and Colin Firth. Yum!

I saw him in the previews but I don't trust them to give me more Cas so much as I'm suspicious they're going to wave him in front of my nose like a carrot on a stick and then send him off to do these unspeakable things up in Heaven.

Heh, I wrote very little fanfic but I read great gobs of it. Made some good, lifelong friends in that fandom, too. I know that I've read Mary/Mr. Collins fic in the past - or at least fic in which that pairing occurs since 99.9999% of the fanfic is primarily Lizzy/Darcy - but it has been enough years that I can't recall titles/authors offhand to give you some links. :(

I didn't even bother with the 2005 version because I knew shoving the story back down into 2 hours would necessarily weaken it. It needs time and space to develop. Without that, it's going to feel like a melodramatic chick flick rather than a journey of self-discovery. Their love needs to be a hard-fought journey of learning and change, you know?

I read all of the classics "girls' books" (Little Women, P&P, Jane Eyre. e.g.) in grade school. I was never a fan of the overly dark (sort of shocking as I'm iconning SPN and TWD) story as a kid and Jane Eyre was just too heavy, tone-wise, for me.

I ALWAYS want to know what people have snagged. It helps me judge success. :D

:D P&P lends itself nicely to icons, doesn't it?

I do, indeed, take requests with the caveat that you might not like what I come up with and the picture needs to be reasonably good quality if you want something remotely nice out of it. Also, I'm committed to making some graphics for friends and comms so I WILL try it just might take me a little while to make it. :) Besides, I love staring at Jensen so I'm more than game to try my hand at a Dean icon.

If you're not aware of it, I want to pimp lemonpunch's Iconfest (http://lemonpunch.livejournal.com/tag/iconfest:%202010%20round%202). She holds them as her schedule allows but for a set period of time, people can bring their requests/caps/etc. to the Fest and a hundred or so makers will try to fill as many requests as they can. The last round closed already but you can look through to see if that's a good fit for you. If you're really lucky, lemonpunch might fill your request and she is one of the absolute best makers on LJ!

I shall definitely check out the iconfest - that sounds awesome! And i'll drop my request here, and if it appeals to you, all good. If not - 'fest for me! Staring at Jensen/Dean is a *good* thing.

Basically - Sniper!Dean is freakin' hot. I would love an icon of Dean with the sniper rifle, either the scene on the roof or the scene inside the building when he was shooting down at the 'shifters.

If you need screencaps, I can go hunting - it's not something i normally have on hand, but i can find 'em or take 'em. If you like to work with your own base images, that's fine.

So - there it is! Now i must go troll the Iconfest link. Wheee!

You do not need to provide caps for that as I have lots of caps from that episode. :D I'll look into the roof scene because the indoor shot were all dark and from angles where it was hard to tell what was going on when shrunk to tiny squares. I'm more that happy to try my hand at an icon of sniper!Dean.

Iconfest is a HUGE amount of fun. I pimp it every chance I get. Not as away to deflect request - I even have a request post somewhere here in this comm - but because it's so much fun and the more requests and the more variety the better.
