I've learned the hard way to avoid WIPs. Not only because they might not be finished but because I can't keep the story lines in my head.
I don't think anything is difficult when you know how to do it. It's the knowing that's the difficult part. I can use curves to adjust lighting, adjust contrast, get rid of color cast perhaps...but not to do the fine points of coloring. I've read several tutorials by brasaremean that use curves but so far I haven't really understood how to apply the knowledge there.
