Iconfest is going on RIGHT NOW. In the past, lemonpunch hosted it in her own journal but this time around, she has created a community:

And I WILL be posting some content rather than just promoting other comms soon-ish. My icon muse took a very long Christmas vacation.

Many of the icons I post here are made for LIMS competitions so it behooves me to promote those competitions, y? Three comms run by my all time favorite mods are starting up. Makers are, of course, welcome, but everyone is welcome as LIMS needs voters as much as it needs makers. Please take a minute or three to check out these awesome comms!

lemonpunch is hosting a second round of Iconfest! It starts in two days so now's the time to start thinking of icons you'd like to have, listing the icons you've always wanted but couldn't find, and/or gathering caps if you've got 'em. If you're really lucky then your request might get filled by lemonpunch, who makes exquisite icons. This time around it's only ~6 days long, so you want to hop in with your requests early on.

All fandoms, stock, bandom, text only, etc. are welcome to participate.

The first round was wildly successful. Nearly 1100 icons were made over two weeks in response to requests. So come and join in the fun, whether it's to request or fulfill requests. I was surprised how much fun it was to make icons for people I'd never met. A lot of times, people were remarkably grateful and really very nice. I urge makers to at least check it out and think about participating; it's a lot of fun.

There is no lack of LIMS out there so why should you join us at sg1_lims?

We have fantastic participants who every week turn in stunning icons. We have an involved community of makers AND voters. We give you multiple caps for every challenge because the goal is for makers to create the best, most creative icon they can. We give you the caps AT LEAST two weeks in advance so that you can make icons as your schedule dictates. You can enter early if you're planning to be away from your computer. Your moderators are committed to maintaining a community that welcomes ALL SG-1 fans. Old School fans. Fargate fans. People from all 'ships. People from no 'ships. We want people who make icons and voters who have never made an icon. We are welcoming and open and, I hope, the positive, creative atmosphere will spur makers to surprise themselves with the amazing icons they make.
