Too Fuzzy? Too Sharp? Just Right?

It has been a long while since I made icons and I'm finding that the change in my eyes -- oy, I'm getting old! -- and a new monitor leave me distrusting my own opinions. Cropping with the setting, "bicubic," lacks details but cropping with the setting, "bicubic sharper," looks oversharpened to me.

I'm trying to compensate but I'm uncertain if I'm succeeding. I'd appreciate it if you would look at these three icons and tell me how their focus looks to you. Thanks!



(I think the first is about right, the second borders on too sharp, and the third is so soft-focus it almost looks drawn rather than photo-based. Yes?)
