I was hoping to have more new icons in celebration of International Blog Against Racism Week but I've run out of time. I started with pics snagged from the PicSpam in Sage-Theory's LJ, augmented it with a few pics from Eureka and Babylon 5, sprinkled in a tiny bit of CSI: NY at the request of jalabert, and couldn't resist pulling up some of my older icons to finish it off.

These are great. I'm really liking a lot of the b&w ones, especially 14, 50, 73, 96, 97, 103, 108, and 111 (yes, I agree that Will Smith is a fandom unto himself). Others I like a lot are 7, 8, 18, 38, 43, 92, and 93.

*SMOOCHES* Thank you for the very detailed look-see that you gave these (even though I know you've already seen most of the SGA ones in the LIMS) and the feedback. You know, that's why I agreed to be part of lantis_lims in the first place; I adore feedback.

I can't get better without it. It's a little painful to dredge up some of my older icons because I used to sharpen the bejeezus out of them; it wasn't until a kind person pointed out my over sharpening that I got it (mostly) under control. I had hoped, in fact, to revisit some of these over-sharpened icons and correct them for IBAR but time was not on my side.

I've become increasingly enamored of b/w. It solves a multitude of color sins, to be sure, but it focuses me more on the content of the icon. It makes me look for ways to add drama whereas in color, I often want the color to star and so I purposefully avoid all that distracting drama. ;)

Awww, thank you! It means the world to me that you find some of my icons and the humor to be comment-worthy; compliments are always sweet but are doubly so when they come from the true masters. 91 & 92 are my more recent work where I was trying to make something artistic as well as character-focused so I'm glad they stand out. Looking over my past work is a bit embarrassing. *hugs*

Late to the party, but just wanted to say how utterly gorgeous these icons are. The three close-up icons of the BSG actress are just arrestingly beautiful. On all of these (and #9 in particular) the richness of the colors, the clarity of the images, and the luminosity of the faces are really extraordinary. If you ever feel like doing a tutorial again (and I don't mean to pressure you in any way because as enjoyable as sharing process may be, I know they must take many hours of work), it would be fascinating to learn how you achieved that.

Also, thank you so much for your offer (over on oneill_icontest) of sharing .psd files on occasion. That's extremely generous of you! I do use Photoshop, and it's a wonderful opportunity to keep in mind. (And in a million years, I would never want one of yours to see what not to do, heh!)

Dualla is one of the most gorgeous women on television these days. A photo of her can't help but make stunning icons, I think. I'd be happy to do a tutorial for #9. It really isn't a horrible process and sometimes I'm just blocked in making new icons. It gives me a way to keep my hand in the game.

Since you use PS, feel free to ask for the files any time you want. I usually keep the *.psd file for anything I do. Sometimes I end up making several files for an icon but 98% of them are a single file.

There's someone else who loves sepia! I love sepia tones, sepia prints, sepia colorings but they haven't proven popular. *shrug* I make some icons solely because they please me and some icons because I think other people will like them, too. The sepia are firmly of the former category.
