19. 112 Icons: IBAR Celebration

I was hoping to have more new icons in celebration of International Blog Against Racism Week but I've run out of time. I started with pics snagged from the PicSpam in Sage-Theory's LJ, augmented it with a few pics from Eureka and Babylon 5, sprinkled in a tiny bit of CSI: NY at the request of jalabert, and couldn't resist pulling up some of my older icons to finish it off.

This is probably not the place to get into an impassioned defense of Mohinder, LOL! But maybe I'll do that as one of my IBARW posts, since I love him like burning. :) It's just so nice to see pretty icons of him.

Aside: I don't suppose you would be willing to make icons of Rena Sofer/Heidi Petrelli? The actress's father is an Orthodox rabbi and she's Jewish. I kind of love her and your icons are just gorgeous.

No need to go into it if you've done it a hundred times and it's vexing to you. But if all that's stopping you is that I might take offense, feel free to expound away. I have personally been annoyed that they make him a dim bulb at times because it feels wrong for the character and like something they do for a plot point. I love all of the Heroes characters and an impassioned defense of a character is never going to insult me. :)

Sure I'd be willing to make an icon or two of her. I don't have any pics at the moment and I'm battling a connection at home that is less than stable. I have a couple of requests already and I will get to it as soon as possible. Give me a week or two, hopefully, and I'll have some. I'd held off on making a bunch of Heroes icons because my favorite icon maker, paddies, was working on some but she has been sucked into a new fandom recently and I suspect we won't be seeing those Heroes icons for a while.

No, not at all vexing. I just didn't want to Mohinder-theorize on your icon post! I'm working up a post about it anyway because it's a good ibarw thing to do. So, I'll point you there when it's done if you're curious. :)

Oh, that would be outstanding. I can point you to a few pictures if you want, but there's no hurry. It's not for IBARW that I want them. I just realized that I don't have many icons of Jewish characters or actors, and I wanted a few. Since Rena's so astereotypically Jewish in her looks, I thought it'd be nice to have some of her. Not to mention she's just gorgeous. *g*

I'm very late in replying; sorry. I've just opened up your Mohinder post to read. :)

If you want to point me to pics, I'd be very grateful. I've seen a few that I intend to grab the next time I'm blocked on making icons but I'm always grateful for links if someone else has already found a delish pic.

Thank you again for the compliments. I don't mind making icons people want. It always gives me a thrill when people want something I made.

It has taken me so much longer than I anticipated to get these made. I've had absolutely no luck in making icons lately. I've tried several times to make these but I've never been satisfied with what I managed to come up with. Here's what I have for now:



I'll continue to trying but so far I've had no luck. Part of it is lack of photos. Google images didn't turn up much beyond some posed publicity photos. Mostly, though, it's my current slump. Hopefully by now you've found someone else to make some because Rena really is stunning.

These are really beautiful. I love the way you use color and her face is really a nice palette for it, the red, the black, the brilliant blue.
