Is it ok to use one or two of them?
- Call your mother.
I wish I could. I would give almost anything to be able to pick up the phone and call her.

Date: 2008-12-03 03:29 am (UTC)You know, that is EXACTLY why I include the admonition to call Mom. So many icon makers treat "rules" as if they're deadly serious things (Credit Me or Die!). I figured as long as anyone was looking down there for action demands, I'd sneak in something that truly was important. *hugs you*

Date: 2008-12-02 02:10 am (UTC)DARK ANGEL! *flails happily*
This is some gorgeous stuff. So artistic!! And I love how you used text in this batch, especially on #71, 73, 74, 22 (*snag*), 8 and #59 (LOL). The lighting and texture on the Babylon 5 and SG1 is just exquisite. I love the neat kind of painted effect of the coloring in this bath, like #35, #37 and #39 and the last Cam row. And #92 is ♥. My transgenic peeps! I see a lot of compositional improvement in this batch, wow.
And #98! LMAO!! That owns way too much. Weirdly that is almost exactly what I say whenever I see that part of the episode now, LOL! Or I just giddily yell "ZOMG, BOOMER!!111!" at the TV...>_>
I think this is my favorite batch yet. I will save it and plunder it later when I get my elJay all paid up again. Really wonderful work!

Date: 2008-12-04 03:38 pm (UTC)Every once in a while, I get in a Dark Angel mood. Such pretty people, such a great post-apocalyptic world, such a tragedy to have been canceled before they could finish the story. (Feh on Fox!) The show is a visual feast, though, which makes icons fun. I've never seen a show where I could have been happy with either of two pairings: Max/Logan or Max/Alec. It took me a while to warm up to the whole transgenics as carnival freaks but Joshua was a great character.
I was uncertain about the coloring in that last row of Cams. I liked the orange/blue play but then I'd look at his skin color and think, "that's just not natural." *shrug* Composition is my largest concern. I look at a post of my icons like this and I see lots of faces. Not a lot of scenery. I want to develop an eye for caps that are good for making icons that are less about pretty faces. (However much pleasure I get from staring at them while making icons. *g*)
I can't see Grace Park as anything OTHER than Boomer these days. She was so brilliant as the mole Cylon that any character she plays is now just "her cover" for me. I can't even see her in the SG-1 episode where she's crushing on Daniel without thinking, "Run, Daniel, run! She's a skin job!"

Date: 2008-12-02 03:02 am (UTC)Also love Cam's expression in #23, Sam with a big gun in #1, #28 is just gorgeous. 59 is BRILLIANT. 76 is absolutely gorgeous. So, so prettiful. In #45, it looks kind of like Fifth is wearing a clerical collar. Which is very, very freaky.
There are times I can't believe you and I use the same show to make icons. I mean that in the best way, of course! It's just... wow. :D

You are WAY too kind to me -- and way too disparaging of your own talent. I've been thinking to propose that we work together to make some icons. I think we could come up with some awesome icons. I haven't had the time to do something like that but it's in the back of mind as something I think would be a lot of fun.

If you want to follow my fitful updates of life, I'm flattered and will friend you back. If what you wanted was just icon updates, this is the better LJ to friend; I won't be insulted if you de-friend there and friend here instead. :)
I just wanted to be certain that you have the right LJ for your purposes. *g*

Date: 2008-12-04 04:04 pm (UTC)I think you found the Ivanova/Halo icon in another post but I wanted to be certain you knew that I would be happy for you to use of the icons I made.

Date: 2008-12-04 04:13 pm (UTC)Those skin tones are part of my current lack of icon-fu. I just can't decide if I like them. They seem so artificial to my eye but I can't make them look "natural" to me. I think in a page of them, they look normalized but by themselves they look a bit wonky to me. But it could be I'm just out of the groove. *shrug*
I'm pleased with the b/w icons. You've pegged it that I'm exploring it. I like the drama of the b/w and contrast. I've been learning how to use the levels adjustment to perfect b/w (to my eye) and I love what it does for the character. It isolates him without looking plain. It's minimalist without straying into boring.

Date: 2008-12-02 08:11 pm (UTC)Snurching Jack's "Seriously?", Cam's "Is it Friday yet?" and Teal'c's "not amused".
I love a whole lot more than that but I'm running out of iconage space. ;p
